and a bit more…

As a Carmelite I’ve been a high school teacher (teaching chemistry and religion), and a parish priest (in New Jersey, then Texas, then Illinois), and vocation director and a formation director.  Here’s a brief calendar of my life:

  • 1985 – entered the Order
  • 1987 – professed First Vows
  • 1990 – professed Final Vows
  • 1992 – ordained a priest

My favorite passage of scripture is: “May Christ dwell in your heart through faith; and may love be the root and foundation of your life.  Then you will know, with all the holy ones, the length and breadth and height and depth of Christ’s love and so understand that love that you will attain to the very fullness of God himself” (Ephesians 3:17-24).

This is me on the day of my First Profession of Vows

Not only do I hope these blog postings aid the Carmelite preacher, but I hope this blog brings all of us closer and closer “to the very fullness of God himself.”  Peace!

Yours, in Carmel,

Rev. Gregory P. Houck, O.Carm. (aka, Father Greg)
